Gregg Goodnight

Gregg Goodnight is a retired engineer with a total of over 45 years of industry and banking experience. His current focus is on all aspects of climate change including public policy analysis. He is a member of The Right Climate Stuff and the CO2 Coalition.

As a practicing engineer his professional experience included:

• Research and process development for E.I. DuPont in paints and biochemicals
• Start-up and operations of biochemicals and agricultural chemical production
• Monsanto chemical plant operations, including management and optimization
• For Solutia, leadership and management of technical support operations
• Consulting in the area of inorganic chemicals including titanium dioxide

In the area of financial analysis, his areas of expertise included

• As an employee of the international bank UBS, Gregg served as an equity analyst of US chemical stocks for 13 years
• His duties included publishing research including detailed analysis of valuation and projected company performance
• Global commodity chemical expertise including ethylene and polyolefins
• Analysis of US hydrocarbon feedstocks including supply and demand
• Industry and chemical supply chain analysis including profitability and trade

Gregg has degrees in Chemical Engineering – B.S. from the University of Texas (Austin), M.S. in Chemical Engineering from The University of Pennsylvania; He is a retired professional engineer in Texas. During his professional career, he was a longtime member of AIChE and was a professional engineer registered in the State of Texas.

Gregg is a native Texan and resides in Pearland, Texas. He and his wife Nancy have been married 46 years and have three children and three grandchildren all of which live in Texas. He is an active alumnus and  proud supporter of the University of Texas Department of Chemical Engineering. His hobbies include music and he is an avid amateur cellist.
