Solar power generation cannot be scaled to replace a large share of total energy consumed in the U.S. or in most other industrialized countries. Wind power generation is limited by geography, access to transmission lines, conversion rates, and limits on power technology.
Reducing global reliance on fossil fuels by 80 percent by 2050 would probably reduce global GDP by some 42 percent – a catastrophe for most people on earth. It is time for the massive subsidies for alternative fuels to end.
